~ Ikev ~

-> Ikev is the prince of Shades. He is Aewen's boyfriend, despite being from an "opposite" species. He looks like a very dark spirit (dark purple for the most of his body, with pitch black angled symbols on the neck, legs and arms), with horns on his head, flowy, pointed gray antennae behind them, and two long, spirit-like ears, naturally indented at about a third of their length.

~ Shades ~

-> Shades are a new species living in the forest of Bantwev, north of Nibel. They're known as predators, mainly by spirits who live in the same area. They can take multiple forms, such as normal (generally spirit-like) a gas (only for a few hours), a fluid (often gooey though not sticky because of its thickness). Although, whatever form they're in, shades are always black, or dark purple/gray.

Their behavior is often aggressive and very sharp: their senses are ultra developed, making them extremely dangerous during hunting periods. (Smell, hearing, movement, body awareness and more).

Shades are born from darkness. Generally speaking, remnants of corruption that once existed upon the land they live in. After hundreds of years, shades can start to grow into hollow trees, literally sucking life out of their host. (Sometimes even more energy can be absorbed if the roots are connected to other nearby organisms). The process of their growth can very hardly be stopped. Their metabolism is so strong that they can barely be damaged: injuries close very fast (a second can be enough for regeneration of an entire limb), and their blood's a deadly venom even to simple touch, seeping into the attacker's skin and body before killing them from the inside out.)

When they "hatch" from the tree, they're already perfectly conscious, aware of their environment and their body, almost making them directly adult. This is why they're referred to as "never-aging-creatures". They live for about the same time as a spirit, although keeping the same size, weight, etc. forever. Some of them can even grow tentacles temporarily.
