Description
(DISCLAIMER! The art was done by one of my friends, but the character is entirely my own. With that said, enjoy!)
Basic character details: Leka (Whose name is derived from לְקַווֹת, the Hebrew word for “hope”) is a “blight spirit”, meaning he is immune to the effects of decay, and in fact needs it to survive. He was born without a Spirit Tree, and often looks for whereabouts of his past, but as of now, he resides in Lebin, a massive cavern far below Nibel, acting as a twisted reflection of its surface counterpart. At the center resides the Blackroot, which acts as Lebin’s equivalent of a Spirit Tree (Also yes, Blackroot Burrows is named after it) Despite what one may assume, none of Lebin’s inhabitants are inherently evil, only using their control over the decay to benefit themselves and others from the shadows, usually not directly interfering with matters on the surface unless there is a crisis. Leka is no different, and is able to channel its power via his prosthetic right arm, which is made of concentrated decay. He also possesses the innate ability to control rifts with the help of his scythe, where the “light” of the Blackroot, Seij, rests within during combat. His personality at first comes across as inconsiderate and rude, focusing exclusively on whatever tasks he is needed for and ignoring if not outright mocking others. But this tougher exterior hides his softer side, which he only shows to those he trusts, with it much more reminiscent of his younger self. While still somewhat serious, he shows a genuine want to help others, vowing to make sure that others always get the chance to live full, joyous lives. And even in the unwavering and somewhat harsh service of the Blackroot, Leka still looks up to it as both a mentor and father figure, simply wanting to do it proud.

Trivia!
-Leka’s prosthetic arm has the alchemy symbols for sulfur and mercury engraved on it. Sulfur to refer specifically to the burning of black sulfur, or “dark”, and mercury symbolizes “spirit” in alchemy, literally translating to “dark spirit” when put together
-Leka originally had yellow pupils
